Actor Saidi Balogun has joined his colleagues Zack Orji, Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri and others to endorse APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu for president in 2023.

The Yoruba actor posted a campaign video of himself on Instagram, urging his followers to join him in supporting the former Lagos State governor.

The 55-year-old who is a member of the Ambassadors of Voice of Change passed the message in Yoruba language. 

The veteran who is also the current President of The Golden Movie Ambassadors of Nigeria, captioned the video:

“Vote ASIWAJU BOLA HAMMED TINUBU( JAGABA OF AFRICA) For President.”

Saidi Balogun also posted a video of another actor Benedict Johnson, campaigning for Tinubu in Igbo language. Like Saidi, Benedict also called on the public to vote for Tinubu.

This came after a video of Zack Orji declaring his support for Tinubu went viral. The actor said he is supporting Tinubu because he believes the man will transform Nigeria’s economy.

On July 21, Saidi Balogun, Zack Orji, Gentle Jack, Brymo, Emma Ehumadu and Benedict Johnson paid a courtesy visit to the presidential aspirant.

The group led by Ahmed Bala represented the Ambassadors of Voice of Change.

The visit was paid weeks after top Yoruba movie stars including Jide Kosoko, Adebayo Salami, also known as Oga Bello, Taiwo Hassan, better known as Ogogo, Faithia Williams, Yinka Quadri, Lanre Hassan, popularly known as Iya Awero, Eniola Ajao, Olaiya Igwe, Foluke Daramola, Femi Adebayo, Shola Kosoko and Murphy Afolabi collectively publicly declared their support for Tinubu.

The show of support by the entertainers was made in a video uploaded on Instagram on Wednesday, June 29, by Quadri, Kosoko, Murphy and others.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls, Saidi Balogun criticized his colleagues who take money from politicians to campaign for them.

In an interview, the veteran urged his colleagues to campaign for politicians without collecting money from them. Instead, he explained that it would be better to come up with proposals that favour the entertainment industry for the politicians to implement if they come into power.

He insisted that entertainers should demand that the candidate adheres to their proposal before deciding on the campaign.
