A chieftain of Labour Party, LP, Senator Victor Umeh, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) should be held responsible for the country’s woes, saying Nigerians cannot go back to them and expect a turn around of the economy.
Senator Umeh disclosed this while fielding questions on the Channels TV Sunrise Program discussing ”the Labour Party and preparations for the 2023 general elections”.
He said Nigerians should not expect a different result while doing the same thing over and over again.
”There are two parties, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressive Congress (APC), which Nigerians believe have mismanaged the affairs of this country.
”Now we are challenging the status quo through the Labour Party because that is where we belong, that is why I joined the party.
we cannot be doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results”.
”The campaign will soon start, and you see people who are offering themselves that have been part of the leadership over the years in the highest level, and Nigeria has not made any progress.
”So it is better to go through a new way of thinking that
our presidential candidate has heavingly demonstrated that he knows what the issues are- the problems and solutions therein, and that is why everybody is following Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
”The labour party cannot be accused of misgoverning Nigeria at any point in history. They have not had the opportunity.
So what we need now is to test a new thing, and that is the disposition of the Nigerian electorates. So let us try a new thing.
we cannot go back to APC or PDP and expect a turnaround of the economy of Nigeria; they have been in charge,” he said.
