The Labour Party (LP) has announced an emergency inauguration of its National Youth Leader’s Forum and support groups amid the national leadership crisis that has rocked the party with the suspension and removal of its National Chairman, Julius Abure.
The meeting under Alhaji Lamidi Bashir Apapa, the LP Acting National Chairman, was announced by the National Youth Leader, Comrade Eragbe Anslem, on Monday, in an invitation.
According to Anslem, the agenda of the meeting which would be held on Tuesday at 11:30am at the party’s headquarters, Utako District, Abuja FCT, include “Reconvening for a Critical Appraisal of the 2023 Presidential Election Results Collation & the Labour Party (LP) 2023 Victory Mandate Recovery Strategy Part-1.
“Deliberations towards the formation of the Labour Party National Youth Leader’s National Mobilization Committee. The Imo State Gubernatorial Election Aspirants Screening Exercise etc.”
The letter reads in full, “INVITATION TO AN EMERGENCY INAUGURAL LABOUR PARTY (LP) NATIONAL YOUTH LEADER’S FORUM WITH YOUTH AND SUPPORT GROUPS.
“Introduction: The National Youth Leader of Labour Party (LP) by this Notice, hereby extends Invitation to the Labour Party Youths & Support Groups for a crucial National Mobilization engagement meeting.
“AGENDA: 1: Reconvening for a Critical Appraisal of the 2023 Presidential Election Results Collation & the Labour Party (LP) 2023 Victory Mandate Recovery Strategy Part-1.
“2: Deliberations towards the formation of Labour Party National Youth Leader’s National Mobilisation Committee. 3: The Imo State Gubernatorial Election Aapirants Screening Exercise etc.”
Invited at the inaugural meeting include the party’s presidential candidate and his running mate, Mr Peter Obi and Senator Yusuf Datti.
Others are; the Labour Party National Working Committee (NWC) and National Executive Council (NEC) members; Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) Presidents; Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council (LPPCC) members and stakeholders; Congress members; Inspector General of Police; IGP Monitoring Unit; DG-Department of State Security Service, DG-Dss and the Press.
