While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen…
There are two types of things: seen and unseen…
Just like we can say there are 2 classes of things: things that are seen and things that are unseen, we can also say that there are 2 classes of miracles/testimonies: seen miracles/testimonies and unseen miracles/testimonies.
The seen testimonies include the things the Lord has done for us that are seen, such as us buying a car, getting a big business deal or contract, building or buying a house, getting new land, etc. They are physical testimonies and are very valid. The unseen testimonies are when the Lord gives us new grace in the place of prayer, opens up our eyes to new revelations, gives us a deeper love for Him, or even self-control and self-discipline in an area that used to be challenging in our walk with Him. The unseen miracles/testimonies are spiritual, and they are also very valid.
Sometimes in Christian circles however, we seem to place more focus on “seen” testimonies rather than “unseen” testimonies. As the church of Christ, the pillar and ground of truth (1 Tim 3:15), we tend to do this, even though the Bible says that seen things are temporal and unseen things are eternal.
This is not to take away from the power and importance of seen miracles. Jesus laid emphasis on them too. However, we must not, for example, feel the Lord has not been doing things for us, when we have spiritual testimonies of how He has been helping us grow in our spiritual lives.
We must know that spiritual miracles are equally valid and powerful. We should place emphasis on them, thank the Lord for them, and not be shy to share them with others, and give the Lord praise when others share them with us.
When you think of all the things the Lord did for you last year or all He has done for you since you came to Him, what are the things that come to mind? Just seen testimonies, or both seen and unseen testimonies? Are you only happy about how He got you a new job and a new apartment, or are you equally happy about all the souls you won to Christ through His grace, and how much better you are praying and forgiving people now than before?
When we see people winning souls for Christ or doing some other inspiring spiritual activity, we feel they must be serious about their spiritual life. When we see someone doing well financially, though, we feel he or she is actually blessed.
However, the truth is that whether it’s a physical or spiritual thing, both are a blessing from the Lord!
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him. John 6:44a NKJV
Physical breakthroughs would bless, help, and increase us in this world. However, spiritual breakthroughs would bless, help, and increase us both in this world, and in that which is to come.
Let us give equal and even more prominence to spiritual breakthroughs in our lives. Give the Lord glory for them, thank Him, pray for them, and appreciate them, both in yourself and in others.
CONFESSION
I give You praise Lord, for the spiritual as well as the physical testimonies and miracles you have blessed my life with. I thank You that You have given me all things that pertain unto life and godliness. I am blessed in my coming in and in my going out. I am blessed in the field, and I am blessed in the storehouse. I am blessed both in spiritual and physical things, and I thank you for all things you have blessed me with, not just some, hallelujah

John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
1 Peter 1:24-25 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
1 Corinthians 7:29-31 ‘But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; and they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; and they that use this world, as not abusing it : for the fashion of this world passeth away. ‘
