Naira Marley, known for his street songs and vocal remarks in the entertainment business, has seen a dramatic fall in his social media follower count since the scandalous rumours of Mohbad’s death began to circulate on social media.

This abrupt drop in his following base is entirely due to the concerns surrounding his alleged role in the unfortunate death of fellow musician Mohbad.

Naira Marley’s follower count has decreased substantially, falling from 7.4 million to 7.3 million yesterday. It currently has 7.2 million followers.

The trend of netizens unfollowing Naira Marley looks like something that will be continuous.

One of the primary reasons for this losing his followers is the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death. Since the passing of the promising young artist, a cloud of suspicion and blame has hung over Naira Marley.

A viral video showing Mohbad being assaulted before his demise intensified the scrutiny on Naira Marley’s role in the tragic events.

The situation escalated when a petition to ban Naira Marley’s music label, Marlian, garnered over 50,000 signatures.

This petition, initiated in the wake of Mohbad’s death, has gained substantial traction. It underscores the level of public concern and dissatisfaction regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Further fueling the controversy, Sam Larry, an aide and close friend to Naira Marley, deactivated his Instagram page after being exposed for his involvement in the assault on Mohbad.

The video that surfaced online depicted Mohbad shooting a music video with Zlatan while in a wheelchair. Sam Larry interrupted the shoot, brandishing a machete and other weapons.

Naira Marley attempted to address the situation by releasing an official statement expressing his desire to uncover the truth about Mohbad’s death. In the statement, he spoke the absence of animosity between him and the late artist, referring to Mohbad as a brother.

However, a recent press release from Mohbad’s team contradicts this claim, revealing that Mohbad had taken legal action against Marlian Music, Naira Marley’s record label, to secure unpaid royalties.
